Google Realtime Search for Twitter’s Tweets Only

by Tinh Tran · 26 comments

Many of you have been aware of the official release of Google dedicated real time search on August 26. This is an interesting news to all of us as it can help searchers find the most updated news once it is updated. But, is that worth for use of this realtime search when your searched results are only tweets?

As usual,  you can only find the updated news after a curtain amount of time once it is published. The smaller your blog is, the longer time your updates are indexed in SERPs of Google. However, with this dedicated real time search, your post will be indexed immediately.

Having a look at Google Realtime Search, you will find it useful but limited to Twitter’s tweets rather than usual indexing contents:

With these results shown in Google realtime search, you will only find tweets from Twitter rather than regular SERPs. That is why I do not think it is a good news to all of us anymore.

If you would like to find latest tweets from Twitter, I think that Twitter Search could be the best option as you can get more results rather than Google Realtime Search.

Do you think, it is worth to launch a dedicated realtime search just for twitter’s tweets?

I think the Google realtime search has been integrated to the normal result pages, is it right? Google is experimenting many new features on its serps, I don’t know what they intend to do.

You are right @tek3d. The normal search results have integrated with tweets but I could not understand why Google still released this dedicated realtime search :-)

You are right. If Google would like to make its live search clean and fresh, they need a strong filter feature too :-)

The archiving is important because it can be collected for a user to profile what their Twitter account is about
